November Member Spotlight: Troy Nelson

Tell us a little about yourself and what got you on the path to CrossFit

Im from a small town in SC. I played basketball, football, baseball, and ran cross country in high school and played sports in college. I spent time in the Air Force after college as a Crew Chief working on C-717. After the Air Force I decided to get my Masters Degree from The Citadel. I enjoy being active and i've ran 2 - half marathons. What got me on a path to CrossFit was when I would go to a bro-gym there was never a sense of community. I felt that I would go to the bro-gym and leave and got nothing accomplished. I like the fact that everyone in this gym is striving to be better at something that they are weak at. The fact that it's not just all about the lifting and exercise part but also the recovery and mental aspect of the human body. Plus I really like not having to plan my workouts..just show up and do what’s on the board!

#Rx or die trying
