Josh Hall
Coach Josh discovered CrossFit by chance in 2015 after enrolling his kids in a youth program at Nomad Fitness. As an adventure sports program manager with Charleston County Parks and Recreation and a lifelong paddlesports athlete, he recognized that staying strong, mobile, and injury-resistant would become increasingly important with age. Traditional gym routines never quite clicked—lacking consistency, community, and fun. But watching his kids laugh, move, and thrive in their CrossFit classes sparked something. The functional movements aligned perfectly with his own goals, and he took the leap into CrossFit—never looking back. While the physical gains were noticeable, it was the community and friendships that ultimately had the greatest impact, strengthening his mindset as much as his body.

Josh’s passion for coaching shows up everywhere he goes. Whether on the water, on the lacrosse field, or pursuing advanced education in Coaching Performance, he loves sharing the stoke. As a paddlesports coach, Josh has designed national curricula and taught across the U.S. and internationally, making the transition into fitness coaching a natural next step. “What I enjoy most about coaching—whether it’s paddlesports, lacrosse, or fitness—is that moment when something clicks for an athlete,” he says. “Helping someone find clarity in a movement or skill that brings them closer to their personal goals is more rewarding than hitting a PR.”
Outside the gym, you’ll most likely find Josh on the water or heading to a remote destination to train, coach, and certify paddlesports instructors.
