Ben Cockshott
Ben’s journey in fitness began through sport. From a young age, he relied on disciplined training, adaptability, and grit to compete with bigger, stronger athletes—developing a deep appreciation for what thoughtful strength training, movement quality, and recovery could make possible. Those early experiences shaped his belief that performance is built as much through smart preparation as sheer effort.
Along the way, Ben learned how to get stronger, move faster, and overcome injuries. When a shoulder injury ended his collegiate baseball career, he pivoted—founding his college’s rugby team and shifting his focus to helping others rehabilitate, rebuild, and come back stronger. That experience ultimately shaped the coach he is today.
Ben holds a B.S. in Exercise Science with a minor in Sports Psychology from McDaniel College. He is an Olympic Weightlifting athlete and coach, has been coaching CrossFit since 2008, and is both CrossFit and USA Weightlifting Level 2 Certified. In 2015, he became a Licensed Massage Therapist, and in 2021 he expanded his practice to include Body Tempering—a strength-based recovery technique that uses weighted implements to improve mobility, enhance recovery, and reduce injury risk.
Ben believes in the power of strength and movement as the foundation for a healthier, more capable life. His passion is helping athletes get stronger, move better, overcome setbacks, and build long-term resilience. Whether in the gym or on the table, his goal is to keep people moving well and training for years to come.
Outside the gym, Ben is a husband, beach lover, dog (and cat) dad, Baltimore sports fan, grill master, and movie enthusiast.
