Tell us a little about yourself and how you got into CrossFit?

I was born and raised in New York, just outside the city (Alexis would call me “bridge and tunnel”). I received my undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and my law degree from Brooklyn Law School. We moved to James Island in 2021, shortly after the COVID lockdown was lifted.

My first experience with CrossFit was in 2015, but I stopped when I moved uptown and too far away from that gym, so I became a fatty mcfatfat lawyer in NYC. I tried some other CrossFit gyms, but none of them compare to the Nomad community.

What keeps you coming back each day?

I sweat too much when I eat :)

What is your favorite at-home exercise to do?

Napping, which is why I come to the gym.

If you had to do 100 reps of one movement (not running), what would it be? The donut crunch.

What are 1-2 of your goals for 2025

Get more comfortable being upside down.

Favorite lift?

Front squat.

Least favorite Crossfit movement?

I can pick only one? I hate burpees, but I think I hate wall walks more. Also, thrusters/wall balls are in the mix. Don’t get any ideas, Casey :)

Hometown?

Edgemont, New York.

Favorite Charleston Restaurant?

My house.

If you could do another job for just one day, what would it be?

Space Pirate.

What would you most like to tell yourself at age 13?

Your “friends” will bail you out of jail, your “boys” will be sitting in the cell with you.

If you could meet anyone, living or dead, who would you meet?

Warren Haynes. He’s the reason I play guitar.

One thing about me people would be surprised to know?

My middle name is Alonzo.

If the Nomad coaches came to your house for dinner, what would you prepare?

Ask Mike :). You’re all invited any time!

Give us a “Question of the Day” to use in class.

If you could have a lifetime supply of something, what would it be? OR

What is your guilty pleasure band/song?

OR

What is the weirdest thing by your side of the bed?
