Tell us a little about yourself and how you got into Crossfit?
I’m 38, grew up in Germany, work in tech, love my dogs, ice cream, documentaries and nerd stuff. I got into CrossFit because Katie Forbes insisted for about a year that I give it a try, since she thought it was a great way to be part of a community, especially when working from home. And she was completely right! Thank you, Katie!
What keeps you coming back each day?
Being bullied by Phil and Katie for my low weights, sauna real talk, just Kyle, Casey’s jokes and horrific hospital horror stories, Michael knowing everything about electrical stuff, beach workouts (they are the best), seeing progress.

What is your favorite at-home exercise to do?
Push ups
If you had to do 100 reps of one movement (not running), what would it be?
Running
What are 1-2 of your goals for 2026?
Double unders, coming as often as I can despite traveling for work.
Favorite lift?
Chest press

Least favorite CrossFit movement?
Front squats
Hometown?
Neu-Anspach, Germany
Favorite Charleston Restaurant?
Baker's Bar (yes, it's a restaurant!)
If you could do another job for just one day, what would it be?
Astronaut
What would you most like to tell yourself at age 13?
Every skill starts with embarrassment. The kids willing to look foolish while learning usually become the most capable adults.
What’s one thing that people would be surprised to know about you?

When I was twelve years old, I was walking home from school when I noticed an elderly man standing alone at a street corner. I had never seen him before. As I passed him, he stopped me and handed me a small device, stating that I would need to protect it. There was no further explanation, and when I looked back moments later, he was gone.
The object is small, metallic, and contains a stone that emits a constant soft light. I have kept it ever since. The light has never turned off, and there is no visible power source, battery compartment, or opening of any kind.
Occasionally, usually late at night, the device produces faint sounds such as humming or clicking. Despite examining it many times over the years, I have never been able to determine what it is, how it functions, or why it was given to me. The light remains active to this day.
If you could meet anyone, living or dead, who would you meet?
Socrates

If the Nomad coaches came to your house for dinner, what would you prepare?
A massive protein-free bowl of ice cream with extra chocolate sauce just to be an ass.
Give us a “Question of the Day” to use in class.
If time freezes but only for you, what would you do first?
