Mackenzie Cable
Coach Kenzie found functional fitness in 2017 when looking for an exercise program for weight loss. After several years of inactivity due to a prior injury from dancing, she knew she needed and wanted to make a change in her life. After losing 50 pounds in the first year, Kenzie's reasons for coming back shifted to community, self-care, building strength and stress-relief. When Kenzie was preparing to move to Charleston in 2019, a gym friend mentioned Nomad Fitness and from the moment she walked into the gym, it was apparent this would become a second home. Kenzie quickly obtained her CrossFit L1 certification, just in time to learn how to teach from Zoom for her first few months and eventually become part of the regular weekly coaching staff. In 2023, Kenzie began to explore the balance of incorporating yoga to help with injuries and nervous system regulation. She decided to complete a 200-hr yoga immersion training with Asheville Yoga Center, which turned out to be another life-changing achievement. Since then, Kenzie has enjoyed coaching some while also offering yoga, breath work, sound therapy, sauna and cold plunge guidance, and meditation to members in hopes of balancing the intense group fitness classes with some stillness, calmness, recovery, and ease. Kenzie's goal for members is to promote wellness and growth of body, mind, and spirit, and to help members develop a loving relationship with their bodies and minds. Outside of Nomad Fitness, Kenzie can be found on the beach, in the sauna, taking a yoga class, or hanging with her dog Joey.
