Tell us a little about yourself and what got you on the path to CrossFit…

Well, I grew up playing sports. It feels like baseball is all I did for as long as I can remember. I played for a couple years in college and team workouts had me in the best shape of my life. Then baseball ended and I didn't have anyone making me condition/workout. I became pretty unhealthy pretty quickly. I tried joining gyms but never really got much out of it. My dad recently started Crossfit down in Florida and it pretty much transformed his life/health. He was an athlete all his life but is now in better shape than he was even in high school. This is really what motivated me to join. It has turned out to be one of the better decisions I have made in my life.

What keeps you coming back each day?

I think it mostly set in after the Life Challenge I did in the Spring. That was when I really started to see some results, and results motivate me more than anything. It’s also just a fun group of people and they make working out more fun.

What is your favorite at-home exercise to do?

I’ll be honest. If I’m not at the gym, I’m not working out.

If you had to do 100 reps of one movement (not running), what would it be?

Hmmmmm. Probably rope climbs. I can do like one rep, but they’re super fun.

What are 1-2 of your goals for 2021? Have you accomplished any of these?

A goal I made for this year was to get into a regular habit of going to the gym 3-5 times a week and I have been pretty consistent with that, so that has been cool to see.

Favorite Lift?

High bar back squat! I’m pretty weak at everything else.

Least favorite Crossfit movement?

BURPEES

Hometown?

Born in Central FL but grew up in Chesterfield, VA.

Favorite Charleston Restaurant?

LEWIS BBQ HANDS DOWN

If you could do another job for just one day, what would it be?

I would want to be a flat track motorcycle racer or play music in some band.

What would you most like to tell yourself at age 13?

Work hard, but don’t stress about school or sports too much. Have more confidence. Don’t worry about what other people think of you.

If you could meet anyone, living or dead, who would you meet?

Probably Steve Carrell or Paul Rudd. They’re just hilarious.

One thing about me people would be surprised to know?

I was homeschooled! All the way through, except for 2 years in middle school.

If the CFJI coaches came to your house for dinner, what would you prepare?

LOW COUNTRY BOIL

Give us a “Question of the Day” to use in class. In your whole life, what is the one thing you are most proud of?
