Tell us a little about yourself and what got you on the path to CrossFit…
I grew up focusing on competitive dance with a little gymnastics thrown in, but I never saw myself working out in a gym or especially weight lifting. I was really sedentary in my 20’s and knew that I needed to find a way to be active. About 7 years ago my boyfriend at the time joined CFJI and raved about it, so I decided to give it a shot. I’ve been hooked ever since.
What keeps you coming back each day?
Knowing that showing up makes my day better almost every time. I always leave feeling calm and happy and ready to take on the rest of my day.
What is your favorite at-home exercise to do?
I love using my rower at home. It’s an easy way for me to work in a little extra cardio while catching up on a podcast.
If you had to do 100 reps of one movement (not running), what would it be?
Double Unders! I’m still in awe that I can actually do them, and it makes me feel accomplished every time I do a big set unbroken.
What are 1-2 of your goals for 2021? Have you accomplished any of these?
I was really unhappy with my body composition and weight at the beginning of 2021 so my main goal was to lose 20 lbs. I’m happy to say I did accomplish that one thanks to completing 2 life challenges. I feel a lot better and love the improvement in my overall fitness.

If you could do another job for just one day, what would it be?

What would you most like to tell yourself at age 13?
I would tell myself to not waste time worrying about what other people think. Do what makes me happy.
If you could meet anyone, living or dead, who would you meet?
I have never had a good answer to this question…I think I would want to meet myself as an old person to see if there is any wisdom I could gain from that.
One thing about me people would be surprised to know?
I played flute throughout middle and high school and eventually became drum major of the marching band (aka gigantic nerd)
If the CFJI coaches came to your house for dinner, what would you prepare?
Having a pizza party with pizza from all of my favorite places seems like a good idea.
Give us a “Question of the Day” to use in class.
If you could go back in time to a specific event, what would you choose and why?
