Tell us a little about yourself and how you got into fitness?

I recently discovered that as you age, things don’t work as well as they used to…I played tennis growing up and pick-up basketball through my twenties…in my thirties I went through a few bursts of working out fairly regularly at a gym but in my forties I’d basically stopped being active…earlier in the year I was considering joining a gym again so I and my girlfriend (hey Becky!) suggested I check out Nomad…she went through the onboarding a while back and thought it might be something I’d be interested in…turns out, she was right (as usual)...Nomad is now part of my weekly routine and it really feels good (even when I’m sore)...
What is your favorite thing about Nomad?
The coaches…it was a little intimidating starting around a bunch of people who knew what they were doing while I was struggling learning the basics…all the coaches have been awesome and really helped me to first get comfortable doing things I’ve never done before, then helping me get better every day…

What are 1-2 of your goals for 2026?
Be less negative and be more present and mindful…
Favorite lift?
Maybe push press? I’m good with all of the lifts and workouts as long as I don’t have to bike or run…
What's the hardest workout you’ve done?
I can barely remember where I was last week so I’m going with the most recent hardest workouts, FOTC Workout #3 and #4…
Sauna or cold plunge?
Probably sauna (though we have one at our house and I’ve gotten in it maybe once)...
Hometown?
I was born in Los Angeles, and moved to Atlanta in the 4th grade. I usually claim Atlanta as my hometown…
Favorite Charleston Restaurant?
Depending on the occasion, Wild Olive, Leon’s, or Lowland…
What’s the most embarrassing song you know every word to?
If I know all the words to the song then it must be good so I’m not embarrassed…

What is a positive habit you have picked up from the gym and how has it affected your life outside the gym?
Just making 7.00 AM class part of my morning routine…working from home has its benefits, but sitting in front of a computer all day is one of the drawbacks…getting up early, getting the blood flowing, and just being around real humans, in-person helps me feel more energized through the whole day…
What’s one thing you’re currently really excited about?
Tomorrow…
What’s one thing that people would be surprised to know about you?
I’m actually as bald as Kyle and have a great wig…
If you could live anywhere in the world for one year, where would you go?
Southern France or Spain (near the French border) or somewhere warm where Becky could surf a lot…
Who at Nomad would you want on your team during a zombie apocalypse?
Probably Amy because she keeps me from doing stupid things that I would probably regret later…
Give us a “Question of the Day” to use in class.
Would you rather be able to listen to your favorite music and bands but never be able to hear new music again (the music you know now is all you’ll ever get) or always be able to listen to new music and bands but never be able to listen to your favorites again?
